The under U8-U6 series of  GO games is in full swing at the moment and on Saturday it was Kildangan's turn to host. Three teams played in the blitz, Kildangan, Nurney, and Ballykelly. We had an U8 and U6 team on the day as did Nurney and Ballykelly. Thankfully the rain stayed away for the games which were of a very high standard.
Kildangan U8s took on Ballykelly in the first game, and although Kildangan were short of a number of regulars some of the younger team members stepped up to the mark and  played with great determination to secure a well deserved draw.

The second U8 game of the day was against Nurney. The team put in a sterling performance against our near neighbours. Playing fast, one touch football the team ran at the Nurney defence in waves and but for an ace performance by the Nurney keeper, Kildangan would have been out of sight by half time.

It was energy sapping stuff, and it took its toll as Kildangan started to tire in the second half of the second game. Sensing that a win was on the cards Nurney upped the ante, however the Kildangan backline held firm to secure a one point win, a creditable performance in the blistering heat.

Our Under 6s are really improving, helped by the coaching efforts of Warren, Keith and Robbie. Again we played Ballykelly and Nurney, both games were great fun with some very deft touches on display by all.

Following the blitz the kids were treated to some goodies which hopefully helped to revive tired limbs. Well done to all the teams for a very sporting and well attended Blitz.
